Additional Notes of Edna Mae Kresge
Edna Mae (Kresge) McCall, 91, of Bavaria, passed away Tuesday, September, 17, 2019. She was born in the hospital in Minneapolis, Kansas June 7, 1928 to Robert and Edna Kresge.
Left to celebrate her life are her daughters: Rachel (Tom), Alice (Bill), and Ellen; her son: Mike (Robin); her grandchildren: Shane, Ryan, Andria, Chad, Megan, Shelley, and Rex; her great-grandchildren: Jordan, Kayson, Kennady, Gavin, Leighton, Nolan, Lyrik, Micah, and Colt; brother-in-law, Dale, and sister-in-law, Ella. Preceded in death by her husband, Duane, both of her parents; brothers: Charles, Earl, Spering, and Bobby. Family, music, church, and farming filled Edna life. Married in Culver in 1948, she spent 66 years of marriage with Duane McCall. They resided on the McCall farmstead where Duane grew up, until 1961, when they moved to Bavaria. Together, they raised four wonderful children. She served most of her life at local churches: playing piano and organ, working as a lay leader, running programs, leading Bible School, and working for the Ottawa County Ministerial Association. She taught piano and organ for over 50 years. She also served as a volunteer in many community organizations including the Salina Symphony, Staccato Notes Music Club, Salina Piano Teachers League, Ladies of the Moose, Ladies of VFW Aux, and The Dizzy Fingers Music Club. Funeral service for Edna will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 23rd at Trinity United Methodist Church in Salina. Burial at 1 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., with the family present from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, September 22nd, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
